Separate accidents over the weekend seriously injured two cyclists when they were involved in collisions with cars. On Saturday, February 6, a bicyclist suffered major injuries when he ran a stop sign in South Park and was hit by a car, according to San Diego Police. The 22 year old cyclist was hospitalized with a brain injury and a dislocated shoulder. The cyclist was travelling west on Fir Street when he ran a stop sign and was hit by a Toyota going north on Dale Street. No charges were reported with respect to the 52 year old Toyota driver.
On Sunday, a teenager in Spring Valley suffered major injuries when he was struck by a hit and run driver on Jamacha Boulevard. The teen was taken to Rady Children’s hospital, where his condition is not known.
