Texting Drivers at Great Risk of Auto Accident

On Behalf of | Jun 12, 2013 | Firm News

A study at the Virginia Tech University Transportation Institute concludes that texting while driving puts the driver at much greater risk of an auto or truck accident. The study concludes that a driver who is texting while driving is 23 times more likely to be involved in an accident. The study concludes that distracted driving is dangerous in three different ways:
  • first, and most importantly, it takes a drivers eyes off the road;
  • secondly, it takes the driver’s concentration off the road;
  • and lastly, the driver who is texting does not have his hands on the wheel. The driver is distracted manually, cognitively, and visually.
