Chula Vista Woman Killed in 3 Vehicle Crash on Route 125

| Nov 21, 2013 | Firm News

A Chula Vista woman was killed in a 3 car crash on Route 125 early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred when a Ford Explorer SUV crossed onto oncoming freeway traffic and collided with two vehicles. The San Diego Union Tribune reports that the driver was traveling north on Route 125 north of Jamacha Road when she lost control of her vehicle, and crossed the center divide into traffic coming south. Two other vehicles were involved in the accident, including an off duty border patrol Jeep Wrangler. The SUV rolled on top of a PT Cruiser, and continued to roll and collide with the Border Patrol Wrangler.

The driver of the SUV, who was wearing her seat belt, was declared dead at the scene. The PT driver was airlifted to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries. The Border Patrol agent was also injured and taken to the hospital.

A police investigation is pending. There did not appear to be any involvement of drugs or alcohol.
