Disabled Man Killed Crossing Steet in El Cajon

On Behalf of | Nov 21, 2013 | Firm News

An El Cajon man traveling in a motorized scooter was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. Alex Gilliam, Jr. of El Cajon was fatally injured while he was crossing East Chase Avenue about 5:15 on Tuesday evening. Gilliam was crossing mid block, and was apparently not in a cross walk. He was struck by a Toyota traveling wast bound. The Police believe that the Toyota driver did not see the victim, as it was becoming dark, he was wearing dark clothing, and he was crossing mid block. Gilliam was thrown from his scooter, and died several hours later after being transported to a local hospital. No charges have been filed against the driver.
