Head on crash fatal to local teenager

| Nov 21, 2013 | Firm News

A 17 year old Poway girl was fatally injured in a head on crash that occurred Friday afternoon on Sabre Springs Parkway south of Poway Road. According to the San Diego Union Tribune, four other teenagers, all believed to be students of Poway High School, were injured when their vehicle crashed into the back of an Enterprise Rent-a-Car Truck. Injuries to the other passengers did not appear to be life threatening, although all four were taken to area hospitals. One of the injured was believed to have multiple fractures.

This crash does not appear to involve alcohol or drugs. The preliminary reports indicate that all passengers in the car were wearing seat belts. The UT reports that the most likely cause of the crash was excessive speed on a dangerous road. Area residents have complained about this stretch of Sabre Springs road in the past. Police reports indicate that other fatal crashes have occurred recently on this same stretch of road.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of the teenager who was killed. A horrible tragedy that has been repeated too frequently in recent months.
