For the second time in less than a week, a motorcyclist was injured in a crash while heading southbound on Lilac Road in West Valley Center, according to the North County Times. The latest crash occurred when a 55 year old man took his motorcycle around a corner too fast and ran head on into a 1996 Toyota Corolla heading north on Lilac Road. The motorcycle rider was taken to Palomar Medical Center, and his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
A previous fatal crash involving a motorcycle occurred in the same area on Sunday when Bradley Eckhardt, the City Planning Director for Perris, fell off a motorcycle heading south on Lilac. Eckhardt fell from his motorcycle after his bike crossed the center line heading south. He was run over by a truck heading north. The City of Perris has enacted a scholarship in his name.
