Building owners should expect construction sites to be safe

On Behalf of | Mar 30, 2018 | Construction Law

When you hire a contractor to build a structure, you might not want to hover over the job site. Some people think that constantly checking on the progress might hinder it. The truth here is that you should stop in and check on the progress periodically, preferably unannounced. There are a few different reasons why you might want to make trips to the site. One of the most obvious is so that you can check on how things are going. You might want to see if everything is coming along how you expected and what is coming up in the next few days. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions if you have any.

Another reason that you might want to stop by the site is to verify that there aren’t any obvious safety issues going on there. Things like the falling objects we discussed last week or unsafe practices being followed by workers can cause problems at the construction site. You might not be aware of all the safety standards that must be followed but you should point out the things that you think are obviously wrong.

We understand that you have a lot riding on the project. The investment that you made is one that must be taken seriously. When you do have issues that come up at the site, such as finding subpar work, you might want to take legal action. This can help you recover any financial impacts that you suffered because of the problem. We can help you to learn about your options and get your plan in motion.
